Mavin artiste, Rema has gotten rid of his trademark dreadlocks in protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) -  notoriously known for profiling mostly young Nigerians based on their appearance.  The singer took to Twitter to show off his new haircut after getting a clean trim and wrote in his caption: ' Dreads don’t mean I’m a criminal #EndSARS.'  

  North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un shed tears as he claimed the country is free of Coronavirus. The 36-year-old dictator made the claim while attending a parade in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Democratic Workers' Party of Korea in Pyongyang on Saturday, October 10. Kim wiped away tears while discussing North Korea's approach to dealing with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He claimed North Korea had "zero" cases of the deadly virus. He said: "I wish good health to all the people around the world who are fighting the ills of the evil virus." The tyrant went on to thank his nation for continuing to work during the pandemic and completing work on new weapons of mass destruction.   Regina Daniels' birthday was on Saturday, October 10, and her husband Ned Nwoko took to Instagram to celebrate her. He shared photos of Regina and wrote: "Happy birthday my princess.   A 39-year-old Nigerian man, Ogadimma Igwe Linus, has been arrested in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for attempting to smuggle drugs into Australia.  He was arrested on Tuesday by the Anti-drug Department collaborated with Fedex Express in an operation coordinated by the Phnom Penh court prosecutor, Soeung Moneyroth, alongside a Sierra Leone national, Conth Abdul, and a Cambodian woman, Han Lis. The officers were said to have checked out an unusual package, which was hidden among some books being sent to Australia from Phnom Penh. They discovered 993.42 grams of the methamphetamine drug inside the package of books.   The suspects and the evidence were sent to the anti-drug department for case preparation.

  Two Junior Secondary School students were crushed to death while five others sustained injuries in a fatal auto accident in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.   According to an eyewitness who posted the photos on Facebook, the accident happened around 2 pm on Wednesday, October 7, in the Gas Odota end of the Ilorin - Ogbomoso Expressway. The accident involved four vehicles – a tipper, a Mazda cab with number plate, LEF 16XA, a Nissan car marked, AG20 NBS, and commercial tricycle. It was gathered that the tipper loaded with sand rammed into a commercial vehicle which was picking passengers, while the cab also hit two other vehicles and the tricycle. Eyewitnesses said the students were standing by the roadside when one of the vehicles crushed them to death.  The Sector Commander of the FRSC, Jonathan Owoade, who confirmed the incident, attributed the cause of the road crash to excessive speed.   The Nigeria Immigration Service says 60 personnels have so far been sacked after they were caught receiving or giving bribes.   The Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, who disclosed this in an interview with BBC Hausa Service on Saturday, October 10, also said he once disguised as a cleaner in order to catch corrupt officials. Babandede said that the 60 officials were sacked in the last four years following complaints ”with evidence” before the Immigration Service and subsequently through the Ministry of Interior. "It’s about four years now that we stopped the corrupt practice in the service via bribes to influence posting as it was done previously in the country.   Jamaican born British rap star, Stefflon Don has adviced #EndSARS protesters in London to postpone their protest till Monday when offices are open.  Stefflon Don in her Instagram post stated that it will make much sense if the protest is held on Monday October 12, as the Nigerian High Commission will be closed on Sunday October 11.    S    

  A jealous husband allegedly cut his wife's head off when he caught her talking to their neighbour in India. Kinnar Yadav, 40, had long suspected his wife Vimla, 35, of being unfaithful to him, according to reports. Some residents of Baberu, located in Banda region in India's Uttar Pradesh, reportedly told Kinnar Yadav his wife Vimla was having an affair with Ravikant Yadav who lives in a house near the couple. On Friday morning, October 9, Kinnar took a walk and returned home to find Vimla chatting with Rakivant. According to police, Rakivant was looking to buy a buffalo and Vimla had been giving him tips when her husband came and saw them chatting. Seeing the two of them together angered Kinnar so much that he grabbed an axe and attacked the Rakivant, injuring him before he fled the scene.
