  Israel has announced it will be going into a national lockdown for the second time amid a new surge in Coronavirus cases. Israel fighting off a major death toll, now records over 4000 cases of the deadly virus daily.   Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has fired back at former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his comment of Nigeria becoming a failed state under President Buhari.  Obasanjo had in a statement on Friday September 11, said that Nigeria is “fast drifting to a failed and badly divided state" under Buhari who he described as ‘Divider-In-Chief’. However reacting to this, Lai Mohammed stated that  “those who genuinely love Nigeria will support, rather than subvert" Mr Buhari’s “committed leadership.” He added that those who planted the seed of insecurity in the country are the same ones “pointing an accusing finger at a reformist government”.   Following the recent flooding in Kebbi, Bauchi and Jigawa states, the Federal Government has advised state governments to take proactive measures to reduce the effects of heavy rainfalls this season.   Two out of three herdsmen, who went into hiding after attacking a family in a farm settlement in Ogun State, have been arrested. The herdsmen stole a cash sum of N140,000 from the family then raped a 16-year-old member of the family on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Afowowa Gbelu Village in Ewekoro Local Goverment Council Area of the state. According to the State’s Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects, Abu Adamu and Muhammadu Aliyu, alongside a third person who is now at large, invaded the farm settlement, attacked a family living in the farm settlement, dispossessed the family of a cash sum of one hundred and forty thousand naira after which, they took a 16-year-old daughter of the family to a cassava plantation, where they took turns on her. A newborn baby was found in a black plastic  bin bag with a rusty knife sticking out of her back. The baby, believed to be two days old, was rescued after a passer-by heard her cries in the city of Posadas in the north-eastern Argentine province of Misiones. The passer-by named Diego Sebastian Penayo opened the bag and found that the infant had been stabbed multiple times, and the rusty blade was still sicking out of the baby’s back. Diego, a 31-year-old personal trainer, took the baby girl to a nearby police station and from there she was rushed to hospital.   Doctors were shocked to find multiple knife wounds on the little girl’s tiny body, and she needed urgent medical treatment. Fortunately most of the stab wounds were superficial and no major organs were affected. Two of the baby’s ribs had also been broken.     A 30-year-old man was arrested in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria, after he allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death after she left him for a new man, Gauteng police said on Sunday, September 13.   Police spokesperson Capt Kay Makhubele who confirmed the incident said the man identified as David Setshoa stabbed his 23-year-old girlfriend, Thato, to death with a knife in an alleged “rage of jealousy”. The incident happened in Leboneng on Thursday evening. He was arrested on Friday and is expected to appear in the Temba magistrate's court on Monday September 14. It was gathered that that David had been stalking Thato since she ended the relationship and moved on with a new man.   17 members of a family have reportedly been abducted by yet-to-be-identified men who stormed their village, Udawa in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state. According to reports, the gunmen in two separate attacks abducted a total of 21 persons. Confirming the abduction to newsmen, Liman Hussaini, a community leader in Udawa village, said the gunmen arrived in their village and began shooting sporadically into the air. He said four persons were abducted on Friday, September 11 while 17 others were abducted on Saturday morning, September 12 while on their way to the farm.   “Yesterday, a family of 21 were going to the farm, but about one and a half kilometres away from home, they were attacked by gunmen.
