  The federal government has disclosed that it has already spent N31 billion in four months to fight Coronavirus in the country.  According to the Accountant-General of the Federation Ahmed Idris, the amount spent so far represents 84% of the N36.3 billon public funds and donations received to respond to COVID-19 between 1st April, 2020 and 31st July, 2020.  In the statement released by the  Accountant-General of the Federation in response to the Freedom of Information request dated August 10, 2020, and sent to him by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and Connected Development (CODE), it was gathered that there is now a balance of N5.9 billion from the donation.

  The Cybercrime Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, INTERPOL, National Central Bureau, Abuja has arrested two (2) suspects for their complicity in a major multi-million Euro scam touching on the procurement of COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).   A statement released by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, Frank Mba on Sunday September 6, says the suspects, Babatunde Adesanya a.k.a Teddy, 50years old Master degree holder in Cell Biology and Akinpelu Hassan Abass, 41years old, the M.D Musterpoint Investment Nig.   Flying officer and Best Graduating Officer at the NAF Special Forces Course, Muhammad Auwal, was allegedly killed by terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state, on Saturday, September 5. Bulawa Bukarti, a Kano-based lawyer, shared the sad news on his Twitter handle. ''Flying Officer Muhammad Auwal is one of the latest gallant men we sadly lost to terrorists. He’s killed yesterday (5 Sep.) on duty at Birnin Gwari. He’s the Best Graduating Officer at the NAF Special Forces Course that held recently in Bauchi. We’ve lost too many brave and promising men to the insecurity raging in our country. Govt officials and politicians must face this problem head-on. Up and coming beauty influencer Ethan Peters, better known as Ethan is Supreme, has died from an apparent drug overdose. Musician Ava Louise, who was Ethan's best friend, said the deceased had an addiction that he developed over the past couple years. He appears to have passed away this weekend from an apparent overdose of what might be Percocet (an opioid).   Ava went on to mourn his death in several Twitter posts on Sunday September 6. She described his addiction as being fueled by fame at a young age. She said he cried out for help, but tragically it didn't prevent his death.     Members of the beauty and YouTube community have posted tributes to Ethan.     Ethan was quite popular and had over 500k followers on Instagram where he shared makeup tutorials and fashion line shoots.

  The mum believed to have killed her five children before throwing herself in front of a train reportedly set the breakfast table before drugging and smothering the kids. It is claimed that the children's mum, who has been named only as Christiane K, was left "overwhelmed" when she split from her husband. German police are continuing to investigate the massacre with the prime suspect being the children's mum. The children - aged between 1 and 8 - were all found dead by police at the family's flat in Solingen, western Germany. The victims have been named as Luca, 8, and Timo, 6, Sophie, 3, Leonie 2, and Melina who was just 1.   Chadwick Boseman’s friends and family including his co-stars gathered in Malibu to pay their last respect to the actor.  The American actor, 43, best known for playing Black Panther in the hit Marvel superhero franchise died on Friday, August 28, after a four-year secret battle with colon cancer.  Mourners including Michael B Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, and other Black Panther stars joined the star’s grieving wife Taylor Simone Ledward at his private memorial which took place a week after his death.   Boseman was also remembered on Thursday, September, 3, as a 'hometown hero who brought a sense of pride' to his native Anderson, South Carolina. The city paid tribute to Boseman in a public memorial with a viewing of Black Panther held at an outdoor amphitheater with kids - dressed up in Black Panther costumes.  

  Uruguay and Barcelona star, Luis Suarez, has agreed to join Juventus in a stunning move after new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman informed him he has no plans for him this season. Reports from Barcelona on Sunday, September 6 say Barcelona and Juventus are negotiating a fee that will allow him join the Serie A champions. Suarez, 33, has reached a personal agreement over a three-year contract worth €10 million (£9m/$12m) per season with the Turin giants and is  set to sit an Italian language exam in the coming days to get a passport which will allow him to make the move.   Suarez is in the final year of his contract at Camp Nou, which will automatically renew for a further year should he feature in more than 60 per cent of matches. Police operatives attached to the Anambra state command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) have arrested three men for allegedly abducting and killing a 34-year-old man identified as Henry Okam in Okija, an area in the state. Disclosing this to newsmen, Haruna Mohammed, the spokesperson of the state police command, gave the names of the suspects as Obasi Faith Ezinne, 23, Mbaitolu Imo State; Ntomchukwu Anabaraonye, 33, of Okija and Abuchi Obinna 'm' aged 26 years of Ihiala.  According to him, the suspects had on August 30, allegedly abducted Okam,  who is from Okija in Ihiala LGA, killed him with a pump-action gun and subsequently buried him in a shallow grave.   ''The suspects who voluntarily confessed to the crime, took operatives to a thick forest in Ihiala where the decomposing body of the victim was exhumed and recovered to the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor.
