  Paul Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola has announced that the Manchester United star, will not be sold this summer as new contract discussions will start soon. Pogba, 27, was signed for £89m from Juventus in 2016 and helped United finish third in the Premier League last season. Under former Manager Jose Mourinho, Pogba had announced he wanted to leave the club but with the influx of new signings and United's qualification to the Champions League, Pogba now looks set to commit his future to the club.  Pogba, whose deal runs until next summer, made only eight appearances in all competitions before English football was suspended in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Mino Raiola speaking to Sky sports said: "United will not accept any bid this summer. "We're going to speak about a new contract soon, no stress." "He is key player for Man Utd. They've an important project and he's 100% included."

  A police Inspector identified as Hosea Yakubu has been confirmed dead after allegedly being assaulted by soldiers at Eleme Petrochemical gate, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Yakubu was returning from patrol duty with two of his colleagues when they were accosted by a military officer in mufti uniform who accused them of driving against traffic to avoid a gridlock on Eleme road. A fight ensued between the policemen and some military officers after the police driver was slapped.  A family source told The Nation that the late police officer was struck with a thick wood, which made him fall to the ground. He was later rushed to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) for medical attention, but died at the hospital. The source added;    “After 24 hours on admission, he gave up. Till today, neither the police nor the military have said anything or taken any action to bring the culprits to book."

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, has said he would shut down the US economy if he were elected president, to stop the spread of the coronavirus, if that was the course of action scientists recommended to him.   In his first joint interview with his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris, Biden said that the Trump White House’s “fundamental flaw” during the pandemic was not to get the pandemic completely under control.   “In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing, and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus,” Biden said to ABC NEWS on Sunday night. When he was asked if this meant shutting the economy down, Biden replied : “I would shut it down; I would listen to the scientists.” Trump administration officials have said since June that they were against a second broad shutdown of the economy but some US health officials believe the death counts will keep increasing unless a second shutdown occur...

  Football star, Neymar, was left in tears after his club side Paris st Germain, suffered a 1-0 Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich in Lisbon on Sunday night, August 23.   At the end of the match, Neymar, 28 had to be consoled in the dugout by PSG sporting director Leonardo.   If PSG had won, it would have been Neymar's first champions league title since leaving Barcelona in 2016.  

  North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un is 'in a coma' with the country now preparing to hand power to his sister, ex-diplomat has claimed. Chang Song-min, an ex-aide to late-South Korean president Kim Dae-jung believes North Korea is hiding the truth about their leader's health despite reports that Kim was pictured just a few days ago.  Pictures emerged last Thursday, August 20, showing Kim attending a government meeting but news outlet Reuters said it could not “independently verify” the images as they were released by the secretive country.'' Speaking with local media, Chang Song-min said: “I assess him to be in a coma, but his life has not ended.” He spoke as North Korea reportedly handed over some powers to the dictator's sister Kim Yo-jong, 33.
