Ify Okoye, wife of music executive Jude Okoye, turned 30 on July 31. The mum of two had a get together that was attended by her close friends and family. She shared photos from the celebration on her Instagram page. more photos below  

  Two brothers were crushed by a truck while travelling to pay their mother a visit in Ekiti State. The brothers, Ojo Hezekiah Abidemi (aka Fresh Strawberry), 25, and Ojo Ayomide, 21, died at the scene of the accident in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State. It was gathered that the deceased, who are both students of University of Nigeria affiliate to College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, were on their way to visit their mother on Friday, August 7th, 2020 when the tragic incident happened. "The brothers were on their way to visit their mum who’s based in Akure and stopped by a fuel station and according to eye witnesses as they were coming out of the fuel station, an oncoming truck rammed into them. "The driver of the truck ran away while the victims were both rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared dead," a source said. Friends have taken to Facebook to mourn the brothers.  

  Nollywood actor, Junior Pope fired back at a troll who mocked him for not marrying his wife a virgin.  This came after he shared a photo of his wife with the caption "Truly I Am Blessed..... See Wetin I Dey Chop." A troll who reacted to the post, wrote "But person 1st u Chop am b4 u begin chop".   Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed sadness over the death of Senator Kashamu who died of Covid 19 complications.   In a letter of condolence sent to the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, Obasanjo however said the deceased Senator used the instruments of law and politics to evade justice over the criminal charges leveled against him in and outside Nigeria but could not evade death. The former President said the death of the PDP stalwart was sad but that his life and history has many lessons for those on this side of the veil.   “I received the sad news of the demise of Senator Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashamu), a significant citizen of Ogun State.  Please accept my condolences and that of my family on this irreparable loss. Former UFC champion, Conor McGregor has announced his engagement to his long-term partner and mother of his two children, Dee Devlin.  McGregor, who turned 32 last month took to Instagram to share a lovely photo with his partner and captioned the image: 'What a birthday, my future wife!'. The pair who have been in a relationship since 2008 have two children together - three-year-old Conor Jr and one-year-old daughter Croia.  The engagement comes two months after the former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion retired from the sport.

  Italian giants, Juventus have appointed Andrea Pirlo as their new head coach on a two-year deal after sacking Maurizio Sarri following the club's Champions League elimination against Lyon.  Pirlo, 41, who was a legendary player for the club was only named as Juventus Under-23s manager 10 days ago but has now signed a two-year contract to coach the first team. A Juventus statement read: "The club has decided to entrust him with the technical leadership of the first team, after having already selected him for Juventus Under-23. "Today's choice is based on the belief that Pirlo has what it takes to lead, from his debut on the bench, an expert and talented squad to pursue new successes."   The body of Chidinma Ajoku, aka Deedee, the staff of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, whose life was cut short on July 26 after a 20-feet container fell on a commercial bus she boarded to her house in Lagos state, has been laid to rest. Chidinma and her colleague were on their way home from work when the container fell on the bus they took home, killing her. Her funeral took place at Ikoyi cemetery on Saturday, August 8, and was attended by her family and friends.                                                                                   ...

  Former manager to defunct music duo, P-Square, Bayo Odusami popularly known as Howie-T is dead.According to reports, he died on Saturday, August 8, 2020 after battling with Stroke for about four years. He was an entertainer to reckon with from his days as a full time disc jockey, rocking fun-lovers at Enter the dragon (western house, Lagos), Sunrise nite club (Victoria island, Lagos), Club Towers (Victoria island, Lagos). to when he became general manager at Ibinabo Fiberesima’s Pyramid nite club. He was very popular for managing the now-defunct music duo, P-Square. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.🙏
