    Big Brother Naija Lockdown season 5 winner Olamilekan Agbeleshe popularly known as Laycon has paid a courtesy visit to billionaire businessman, Prince Ned Nwoko, on Friday. During the visit, Ned introduced Laycon to his project on eradicating malaria in Nigeria and across Africa through his malaria vaccine research and fumigation of the country. The reality star, in return shared his experience in the Big Brother House, the lessons and how he intends to use his newly acquired fame to positively impact the society. The rapper also pledged his support to put an end to the scourge of malaria in Africa.

  Reverend Polycarp Zongo, a pastor of the Church of Christ in Nations, Jos, Plateau State, who was kidnapped by the Islamic State In West Africa (ISWAP) around Bauchi-Gombe road, has been released. Pastor Zongo was released on Friday evening, October 30, through an undisclosed process, officials say.  Details about his release are yet to be disclosed, however, it was gathered that he communicated with his wife to confirm his release.     The pastor, who went missing while travelling to Gombe State for a conference, had appeared in a video this week saying he was abducted by the Islamic State West Africa Province. Pastor Zango said he was in the custody of the insurgents alongside two other Christian women, who were also abducted. The former Manchester United player was an uncompromising competitor who won 28 caps for England, lifting the FIFA World Cup in 1966. He provided one of that final’s most iconic images as he danced around the Wembley pitch after the hosts beat West Germany.   Public and private schools in Delta have been directed by the state government to resume academic activities on November 2 after a week break. Patrick Ukah, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education in Delta State said the directive was in line with the "teleclass".  Ukah who disclosed that the closure of schools in the state was occasioned by the hijack of the peaceful Endsars protest by hoodlums in the state, urged heads of schools to continue enforcing the COVID-19 protocols by their pupils and students to avoid the spread of the disease. On the resumption of nursery schools, the commissioner said it was being reviewed and the announcement for resumption of academic activities will be announced later.

She was photogrpahed by Kennedi Carter, 21, from North Carolina, making him the youngest person to shoot a British Vogue cover in the magazine’s 104-year history.   Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil has condemned the recent Islamic terror attacks in France, after three people were killed inside a catholic church in Nice just two weeks after a teacher was beheaded in Paris. The 32-year-old German footballer, who is a devout Muslim, took to Twitter on Friday October 30, to state that there is 'no place for terrorism in Islam'. Sharing a photo of himself at the holy Islamic site of Mecca along with a quote from the Quran, which read: 'Whosoever kills an innocent human being, it shall be as is he has killed all mankind and whoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind.'

  Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally tested negative for Coronavirus after three positive tests.  Recall the Portuguese international, 35, first tested positive while on international duty with Portugal on October 13. He returned another positive result last week and was made to take another test earlier this week, which also returned positive.  On Friday, the Serie A side announced that Ronaldo has now tested negative in a statement on their official website.  "Cristiano Ronaldo carried out a check with a diagnostic test (swab) for Covid-19," the statement read. "The exam provided a negative result. The player has, therefore, recovered after 19 days and is no longer subjected to home isolation." Ronaldo, who missed the club's previous four matches including Wednesday's Champions League match against Barcelona will now be eligible to return for Sunday's clash against Spezia.

  Rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, has opened up on the ill-treatment she gets from fellow Muslims Yesufu, who is the co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group lamented that fellow Muslims rain curses on her in the mosque. She said the resentments she now suffers is due to her involvement in the widespread EndSARS protests. The activist made the disclosure on her Twitter handle. According to Yesufu: ”Heard I am being cursed in mosques! People finish praying and take time out to curse me in their prayers. “I have asked they should please let me know how many of these curses they rained on me when I was making the same demands during GEJ! We are all already cursed in Nigeria.” Many activists including Aisha Yesufu had joined Nigerian youths in the streets to protest against police brutality and bad governance in the country.

    Tension has gripped the people of Oka Akoko in Ondo State following the gruesome murder of a 43-year-old security guard in the community by suspected ritualists.  The guard, Rotimi Olukoju, who worked with a microfinance bank in the town, was found dead on Thursday evening by some residents in a bush path.  Several residents told SaharaReporters that Olokoju was murdered on his way to the farm in the Iwaro area of Oka Akoko of the agrarian community.  They confirmed that Mr Olukoju was beheaded by the suspects while vital organs of his body were also removed and taken away.  According to them, the frightening incident has sent panic across the community. A family member of the late Olukoju, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Friday morning, said his corpse had been taken to the mortuary by the police.   A powerful earthquake struck off Turkey's Aegean coast and north of the Greek island of Samos, as well as the capital Athens on Friday, October 30th.  The tremor of 7.0 magnitude was centered off Turkey's Izmir province and it was felt as far away as Athens and Istanbul, US Geological Survey (USGS) said    Shortly after the earthquake hit, Turkish officials said at least 6 buildings collapsed in the western Turkish city of Izmir.   Ahmad Ahmad, the president of the Confederation of African Football has tested positive for coronavirus.  "This morning, I've been declared positive to Covid19. I have mild symptoms, but I'm well," he wrote on his Twitter account on Friday, October 30.  According to the Press Release from the football body on Friday, after his arrival in Cairo on Wednesday, October 28, Mr. Ahmad Ahmad, presented mild flu symptoms, and submitted to the COVID-19 protocol. He tested positive on Friday. A CAF press release said Ahmad, who arrived in Cairo on Wednesday, October 28, for the Confederation Cup final holding in Morroco on Sunday, presented mild flu symptoms.   A man, Marek Slepcik stripped a drunk 11-year-old girl naked, raped her and left her crying back in 2016 before his parents helped him flee to Slovakia, Liverpool Crown Court has heard. Slepcik who was 16 as at the time of the attack in 2016 was arrested days heinous crime and had his passport seized by police officers before he was bailed. In court documents it was revealed that Slepcik applied for emergency travel documents through his mother, claiming he had lost his passport. After he got the passport he then left the UK and went to Slovakia, where he remained until a European Arrest Warrant extradited him back to the UK on July 27, having spent 145 days in jail.   Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has again relaxed the curfew he imposed in Lagos state in the wake of the #EndSARS crisis which led to the destruction of properties.  The curfew which was formerly between 8pm to 6am, will now take effect from 10pm till 6am. The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday October 30, by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso.  Governor Sanwo-Olu urged all residents to go about their businesses in peace, even as they shun "actions that can threaten our unity.”  

  A cathedral in London has held a memorial service for its celebrity cat named Doorkins Magnificat that recently died, 12 years after strolling into the church premises as a stray cat. During her twelve year stay in Southwark Cathedral, the cat reached celebrity status: meeting the Queen, starring in a children’s book and having her own social media accounts. The memorial ceremony was done on Wednesday October 28, a month after her death, after suffering a stroke.   The thanksgiving service was held under the cathedral’s Gothic arches before she was laid to rest in the churchyard. Andrew Nunn, the dean, told the congregation. “In more normal times, we often host memorial services for the great and the good. Africa’s richest woman, Isabel dos Santos’s husband, Sindika Dokolo has died at the age of 48. According to a tweet by Africa Facts Zone, the Congolese businessman and art collector died in a diving accident in Dubai on Thursday, October 29.         Isabel dos Santos,47, later shared a photo with Dokolo and their youngest son on Twitter without a caption. The comment session was flooded with heartfelt messages.  The news of his death was officially confirmed by Michée Mulumba of the Congolese president’s office, Felix Tshisekedi.  Prior to his death, Dokolo and his billionaire wife Isabel, the daughter of Jose Eduardo dos Santos who ruled Angola for 38 years until 2017, were being investigated over a $1.136 billion mismanagement of state funds.
