  At least eight soldiers were killed by suspected Boko Haram terrorists yesterday Thursday, February 9th, along Ajiri-Dikwa road in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State. The troops were escorting about 200 newly-trained soldiers from Maiduguri to Dikwa when they were ambushed by the terrorists around 7:30pm .

  A Nigerian man with 90 capsules of cocaine in his stomach was arrested at the the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) Delhi, India, by Narcotics Control Bureau sleuths, on Monday, February 6th. The man, identified as Okonkwo M Tony, was apprehended after he landed at the airport from Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa.

  A 20-year-old laborer identified as Sunday has drowned while trying to escape being initiated by cultists in Lake View estate, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos. The cultist gang known as Icelander Confraternity have reportedly been terrorizing the neighborhood for a while, grabbing young men and forcing them into getting initiated into the cult. Young men who refuse to be initiated are reportedly told to leave the estate or face death.

  Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed eight persons in Zamfara State. According to reports, the deceased persons were ambushed by the herdsmen while they were on their way for a reconciliatory meeting following a clash between the herdsmen and members of Tsafe community in Rukumawa Tsafe Local Government Area of the state.

The Lagos state command through the it's operatives from Victoria Island division have arrested a 23 - years old suspect for offence of robbery. The suspect George Onuh who was accompanied by his gang member still at large had waylaid and dispossessed their victim one Bola who was carrying a large sum of money just withdrawn from the bank.  The alarm raised by the victim attracted the police operatives on patrol around the vicinity, who trailed the suspects to law school area where one of the suspects was apprehended and the cash recovered from him while the other fled with the motorcycle used for the operation.

  U.S President Donald Trump took to Twitter to lash out at Democratic senators John McCain and Richard Blumenthal after they criticized the U.S Military's secret raid on Yemen, authorized by Donald Trump that killed at least 23 civilians, including women and children and also led to the death of a Navy Seal, Chief Petty Officer William "Ryan" Owens.

  The management of the University of Lagos on Thursday, February 9, distanced itself from an alleged dress code issued to students. Prof. Toyin Adebule, the deputy Registrar, Information, University of Lagos, made this known in a statement, The Punch reports. According to Adebule, the University did not approve a new dress code for students. 

  Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the state house today,  granted audience to some leaders of the Nigerian Labor Congress, Trade Union Congress and other civil society groups that staged a protest demanding for good governance. He received APC National leader, Bola Tinubu and former Osun state governor, Bisi Akande at the Nigerian House where he is residing (read here ). Some Nigerians claim the photos are photoshopped as they show President Buhari wearing the same Kaftan and Cap he wore in previously released photos.
