  Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Idiat Oluranti Adebule, today paid a visit to the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School, Ikorodu, where three female students were kidnapped on Monday evening. She was accompanied by other top government functionaries and the heads of security agencies in the state. She was reportedly in the school to share in the pains of the parents, and to equally assure them that the government would leave no stone unturned until the three girls are rescued alive.   President Robert Mugabe has come up with a solution to the growing rate of rape and child abuse cases. He said that castration of rapists and child abusers is the best way to stem the vice. The Zimbabwean president reportedly made this known while speaking during his 92nd birthday celebrations at the Great Zimbabwe Monuments on Saturday, February 26.

  A new law entailing drug pushers to be force fed with drugs when caught is set to be passed in Indonesia, as the National Narcotics Agency bid to tackle the country's drug problem. In Indonesia, the death penalty is already existent for Drug peddlers who are caught but the country's drug enforcement division are thinking of legalizing new stricter laws.

Dozens of emaciated-looking Boko Haram members begging for food have surrendered in northeast Nigeria, the military and a civilian self-defense fighter said Wednesday. Seventy-six people including children and women gave themselves up to soldiers last Saturday in Gwoza, about 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Maiduguri, according to a senior officer. All are being detained at military headquarters in Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram and currently the command center of the war against the Islamic extremists, according to the officer. He insisted on anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to journalists.

14 year old Ese Rita Oruru, the Bayelsa born girl child who was abducted by Yunusa Dahiru, alias Yellow but rescued by the Police in Kano, has been discovered to be about 5 months pregnant, very reliable sources have told Vanguard. Freed Ese Oruru at Police Headquarters, Abuja, yesterday. Consequently, it was gathered that the white Hijab dress she wore on her arrival from Kano on Tuesday, was used to cover the pregnancy even though her physical condition and looks created a suspicion. It was told that the condition in which Police authorities discovered about Ese that informed the IGP, Solomon Arase’s directive that she should be handed over to the Gender and Child Protection Unit and later, a team from the Medical Department of the Force to carry out a comprehensive medical examination of the girl-child at the Police Medical Facility in Area 1, Garki.

It appears the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have decided on Sredojevic Milutin alias Micho, to become the new permanent coach of the Super Eagles. The NFF, have already opened talks with the Serbian, who is currently working as coach of Uganda’s national team since the African Nations Championship in January this year. Technical Committee chairman, Chris Green, met with Micho in Rwanda and it is believed that the former Rwanda and Orlando Pirates manager, will be heading to Nigeria, when the two-match mandate given to Samson Siasia and his assistants expires.

Former Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje on Tuesday insisted that he won the State 2015 Governorship poll. While addressing party members at the PDP’s secretariat in Lagos ahead of the party’s forthcoming congresses and national convention, Abgaje stated that he was plunged into debt after the election. “Some members were annoyed because those monies meant for the elections were not given to them to prosecute the last polls. I am angry too because the PDP won the last election in the state but was denied victory. I finish election, na gbese, I carry for head,” Agbaje said. He however urged the members to move past the lost and channel their strength towards rebuilding the party.

There is an ongoing pandemonium in Oshodi area of Lagos as hoodlums were destroying properties and causing widespread fears in the area. Hoodlums also known as ‘area boys’ were said to have regrouped at Brown Street, Oshodi, and later unleashed mayhem in the area. They reportedly destroyed properties at Bolade Bus stop.   A Texas mum, Shauna Lee Bennett was arrested Saturday after the police were called by neighbours who noticed that her 3 year old daughter had been left alone by herself in the house. When the Police arrived at the house, they said the toddler looked dirty, was covered in red bumps and kept saying she was hungry and at one point told the Police "I need a beer," reports CBS affiliate KOSA. One of he officers who responded to the call said:

  The New Orleans U.S. Attorney’s office has charged Fuse TV star, Big Freedia with stealing government funds. A bill of information filed Tuesday (March 1) has accused Freedia, real name, Freddie Ross Jr, of taking money from Department of Housing and Urban Development. Although the document provided little details, local news outlets say Freedia lied about income to stay with subsidized housing. The alleged theft took place between 2010 and 2014. Billboard reports Freedia’s first court appearance in March 16. Prior to theft accusations, Freedia has been living the high life and received a certified endorsement from Beyonce when his voice was in her new politically charged song and video “Formation.”

The 29-year-old best graduating student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, during the 2014/2015 convocation ceremonies, Mr. Ayodele Daniel Dada, has been rewarded with a total prize money of more than N1 million. Dada, who broke the record of being the first student of the 54-year-old university to secure a Cumulative Gradient Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0, was formally unveiled Tuesday amidst pump and pageantry by the institution.
