  While speaking at the just concluded Business for Africa, Egypt and the World Forum held in Egypt yesterday February 20th, President Buhari reiterated his stance against the devaluation of the Naira.

  The Democratic Peoples Congress DPC, has called on the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, to resign following the declining state of the Naira and the Economy. The party's position is contained in a statement released by the party's Chairman, Reverend Olusegun Peters on Friday February 19th.

  36-year-old R&B singer Ne-Yo said 'I do' to his heavily pregnant fiancee, Crystal Renay on Saturday at the luxury Terranea Resort by the sea in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, according to reports by People mag. NE-YO wore a stylish grey suit with black tie while the expectant bride, who is nine months pregnant, wore a white embellished gown. The ceremony was witnessed by family members and their closest friends with NE-YO telling the publication: 'We can't wait to start our life together. We're looking forward to just being each others' best friend.' 

  Saudin Karim died last Friday night from a heart attack. The 48-year-old man who was a heavy machinery driver at a printing plant in Bukit Jelutong, Malaysia was at the Sarau, reciting the Al-Quran, when he suddenly collapsed. His colleague, Jamaluddin Shareii who was with him when he collapsed, said; "He held his forehead and suddenly collapsed backwards. I tried to help him but I wasn't successful. My other colleagues and I then called for an ambulance but Sarudin was pronounced dead by emergency personnel who arrived about 9.20pm ." 

  Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi may be in line for a new Chelsea contract, following his impressive performance under Guus Hiddink. Mikel’s resurgence under Guus Hiddink has altered his situation at Chelsea with the club now considering the offer of a new deal. The 29-year-old Nigerian hardly had a look in Jose Mourinho, who preferred Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic as regular partners in his defensive midfield. But since Hiddink was brought in as interim coach following Mourinho’s exit Mikel has featured more regularly.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared David Mark winner of the Benue South Senatorial re-run. The former Senate President garnered a total of 84,192 votes, to beat his main contender, Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 71,621 votes. The returning Officer of the electoral body, Mr Ishaq Eneji, while declaring the result, said that Senator Mark met all the requirements during the conduct of the poll, having majority of the total vote cast. Responding to the victory and call for supplementary election in the cancelled polling units, Senator Mark said that his election reflected the will of the people.
