Sources inside anti graft agency have confirmed that Mr. Alison Amaechina Madueke, the husband to the embattled former Minister for Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has been arrested. Mr. Madueke was arrested today, Wednesday February 17, by EFCC agents in Abuja for illegally laundering more than $600,000 through his personal accounts.

  A native doctor in Kogi State has butchered his own customers and close acquaintances for years. Mallam Ibrahim Muhammed Dabasabe, who also claimed to be a Muslim cleric, discreetly murdered two brothers, Tanko Abubakar and Muhammed Kudu Abubakar, who both came for spiritual guidance. The two brothers from Niger State were killed by their host and their bodies buried behind Dabasabe compound.

  Boxer Manny Pacquiao has been fired by Nike as a brand ambassador over his anti-gay comments. Nike issued a statement this evening saying;

  Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted Inengite Nitabai, the foster father of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state late last night February 16th. According to Sahara Reporters, the kidnappers stormed the home of the septuagenarian and whisked him away to an unknown destination. Bayelsa state police spokesperson, Ansim Butswat, confirmed the incident and said the police was trailing the kidnappers. Nitabai was kidnapped in 2014 and regained his freedom after the intervention of security personnel.

Customs officers have arrested an African woman at the Kualar Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) who attempted to smuggle cocaine worth RM622,000 into the country. The woman was arrested at the departure hall on February 14 at 9.30am. KLIA Customs director Datuk Chik Omar Chik Lim (pictured showing small chunks of cocaine hidden in chocolate packaging) said the 28-year-old woman was detained after Customs detected a suspicious item when scanning her luggage.

  The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed former u-17 team coach Emmanuel Amuneke as the new Flying Eagles coach after his heroics helped the under-17 Nigeria team to success in last year's FIFA U-17 tournament in Chile. The news of his appointment was confirmed by the football body who passed a communique after it's executive board meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. Amuneke, who was named African Footballer of the Year in 1994 will be assisted by Kabiru Baleria and Emeka Amadi as assistant coach and goalkeeper trainer respectively.

  Newly appointed chairman of PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff, has vowed to unseat President Buhari and the APC from Aso Rock come 2019. He said this while addressing PDP members at the Abia state governor. Okezie Ikpeazu's thanksgiving service in Umuahia, Abia state today February 17th.

Yewande Oyediran, the Ibadan-based lawyer who allegedly killed her husband, Lowo Oyediran, at their Akobo residence in Ibadan on February 2nd, appeared before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Oyo state yesterday February 16th.

  Shocked pupils came across the bloody body of a 31-year-old woman at Bonteheuwel High School, SA yesterday morning, February 16. Bonteheuwel mother of two, Lizelle “Zellie” Lucas, was shot execution-style on a pitch behind the classrooms of the school. Her eldest daughter is in Grade 9 at the school.
